There were 2,032 housing units at an average density of 166.9/km² (432.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 67.37% White, 15.04% African American, 0.89% Native American, 0.53% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 12.98% from other races, and 3.14% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 46.23% of the population. There were 1,869 households out of which 36.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.8% were married couples living together, 14.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.8% were non-families. 22.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.98 and the average family size was 3.50.
