US Housing Desirability Index Dropped 0.15 Percent in September

October 31, 2011 - 04:52 PM

The BuyersUSA Relocation Desirability Index dropped to 33.32 in September. This represented a .15% decrease compared to the August level of 33.87.

This index indicates the expressed interest in home purchasing in the US. This index is a leading indicator, which should reflect subsequent building permits and pending home sales. It is based upon tracking potential customer monthly interest in 139 top US metropolitan areas.

Meanwhile, the BuyersUSA Relocation Real Estate Competition Index rose 4.8% to 0.66. This indicates the relative amount of real estate marketing activity. A rise in this index represents increased competition for available potential home buyers.
